# Understanding Shade, Partial Shade, and Full Sun for Plants
In this video, we’ll be discussing the different lighting requirements for plants and what shade, partial shade, and full sun mean.
It’s important to understand these terms when choosing the right location for your plants to thrive. We’ll explain everything you need to know so that you can care for your green friends properly.
Shade is not total darkness. All plants need light to survive, so when we talk about shade, we mean an area that’s well-lit but doesn’t receive direct sunlight. Some plants are better adapted to these conditions than others.
Partial shade means that the plant receives four hours of direct sunlight each day but is shaded for the remainder of the day. This is ideal for plants like ferns, for example.
Full sun means the plant is exposed to direct sunlight for the entire day. Certain plants, like cacti and succulents, thrive in full sun.
Remember to research the lighting requirements of your plants before buying or adopting them. It will make it easier for you to keep them healthy and happy!

Uma dúvida frequente que chega até nós é o entendimento do que é sombra, meia-sombra e sol pleno para as plantas.
Essa classificação é utilizada para agrupar plantas com necessidades de luz solar semelhantes, o que não quer dizer que uma planta de sol pleno não possa se desenvolver em meia-sombra e o contrário também.
A ideia é facilitar a nossa vida na hora de escolher o local onde aquela verdinha vai viver e se desenvolver. O intuito do vídeo é esclarecer cada termo.
