*Hi everyone, it’s Paola! Welcome back to my channel, where I share my passion for art and graphic design. If you’re new here, don’t forget to subscribe! In today’s video, I have a design challenge for you. I have already created a custom type-based logo, and now I want to talk you through the process.*
*This project is like a little mock-up, which are my favorite kind to do. They’re fun, creative, and great for inspiration. I already had a letter that I made during my recent Adobe Live session, where I was creating custom lettering. If you haven’t seen that, I’ll link it below. It was amazing, and I know you guys love custom typography just as much as I do, so expect more videos on that topic in the future.*
*During the Adobe Live session, I brainstormed with the chat and people came up with brand ideas based on the letters I was creating. One suggestion was a snack brand, like popcorn. I thought it was cute, and that’s how I came up with the idea for “Wow Snacks.” I started by taking my letter “W” and creating an “O” shape that would go along with it. It was a fun challenge to create letter forms that are cohesive and visually interesting.*
*To add color to the logo, I decided to use a gradient for the “O” shape. I felt that it made the logo look more rounded and added to the overall shape I created. I think the “O” worked really well with the “W” shape, and voila, we have the brand name “Wow.”*
*Now, I have to admit, this project was completely out of my comfort zone. If you’ve seen my design portfolio and past work, you’ll know that I don’t usually work with funky designs and bright colors. It’s not really my style. So, while I’m sharing this project with you here, it’s not something I would typically include in a professional portfolio.*
*However, I wanted to challenge myself and show you that stepping out of your comfort zone can be a good thing. As freelance designers, we often have to work with clients whose aesthetics don’t match our own. It can be tough, but it can also be a valuable learning experience. If you’re presented with a brief that is completely different from your usual style, don’t be afraid to try it. You might surprise yourself and learn something new.*
*Throughout this process, I also had to choose a typeface to complement the custom lettering. I opted for a simple sans-serif typeface that went well with the bubbly and fun lettering. It’s important to have a cohesive look and not overwhelm your design with too many typefaces.*
*So, even though this project is not something I would typically pursue further, it has taught me the value of pushing my boundaries and trying new things. It has expanded my creative horizons and prepared me for future challenges with clients. I hope this video inspires you to step out of your comfort zone too and embrace new design possibilities.*

Hi Paola! First of all, your videos are awesome :-)!!! Just to let you know, in Germany there's the 'Sky ticket' streaming which they changed the name to 'WOW' streaming last year. It's streaming movies and such. Your design looks much better though. Way more funky! All the best to you!
i love how you applied the custom letters you created!!! I always find taking elements I make to the next level of design so difficult
More such videos please! I love your branding work ❤😊
I thought this was so cool and creative. As of recently I’ve loved custom typography and I love how playful this is! The one thing is that I kept seeing the w’s as n’s for some reason. Might just be me. 😅 overall this inspired me to get out there and create! Keep up the wonderful work, I always love your videos!
LOVE THIS 💗 And omg for the green version near the end, I think this logo would look sooo good for a pickle brand!!! 💚 The "WOW" look like pickles when it's in green 🥒🥒🥒
I appreciate that you shared this while making it clear that you don’t feel it’s your best work. I struggle with posting anything at all because I’m constantly seeing incredible work and then comparing it to mine. Not everything we create has to be the best. Every project is an opportunity to learn, even if we’re not super proud of the end result. I think that is really cool of you to share this stage of the design, whether it gets developed more or not.
LOOOVE THIS!🤩
Good Job 👍.
