A potential client reached out to me requesting a new brand identity, and after some discussion, they became my newest client. We began by establishing their brand identity using a discovery questionnaire to understand their business, goals, and style preferences. Skin Luxe Spa, a local esthetician, aims to help people feel confident in their own skin while offering a luxurious experience. With this brief in mind, our goal is to create a brand identity that focuses on emphasizing the skin services aspect.

The project scope includes designing a new logo, submark, colorways, typography, and a brand pattern. As a graphic designer, I always start by exploring various typefaces that align with the client’s vision. This includes utilizing resources like envato elements for an extensive selection. Choosing the perfect typeface can be challenging, as there are multiple beautiful options available. However, through careful consideration and customization potential, I narrow down the choices.

Customization is a crucial step in making the selected typeface unique to the brand. I outline the text and modify different aspects to create cohesion with the original typeface while incorporating desired stylistic elements. This may involve extending or adjusting certain letters to fit the aesthetic. In the case of Skin Luxe Spa, I focus on customizing the typeface’s “S” to further enhance its branding.

Throughout the video, I cover each step of the graphic design process, from designing the logo lockup to creating a brand board, line illustrations, submarks, adding color, making the brand pattern, and finally, the exciting moment of revealing the final brand. Join me as we dive into the detailed process and witness the birth of a distinctive brand identity.
