Greetings and welcome! In the first letter of Paul to the Colossians, specifically in its first chapter, we will be reading some verses from the sacred scriptures, starting from verse 13.
“He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent. For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross.”
Indeed, Jesus is the center of our lives, the very essence of our faith. As we dive deeper into the teachings of the apostle Paul, it is crucial to understand the context in which he wrote this letter to the Colossians. At the time, Paul was imprisoned in Rome, and he received a request from his companion Epaphras, the founder and pastor of the church in Colossae.
Epaphras, being concerned about the spread of false teachings and heresies, urged Paul to write a letter to address these issues and to emphasize the centrality of Jesus Christ. Therefore, this letter stands as one of the most significant Christological treatises in the New Testament, highlighting the greatness and authority of our Lord Jesus.
One of the prevailing heresies in the church of Colossae was the influence of the Gnostics. This group believed they possessed exclusive knowledge and claimed that Jesus was merely a man with limited power. Their teachings threatened to undermine the foundations of the church, leading Paul to urgently remind the Colossians of the supreme importance of Christ.
Sadly, even today, we witness similar heresies within various denominations. Instead of faithfully focusing on Jesus Christ, some choose to prioritize prophecies or man-made doctrines. Yet, Paul’s words resonate through the ages, reminding us that the church must be firmly rooted in the glorious figure of Christ Jesus.
Join us on this transformative journey as we explore the timeless wisdom of Paul’s letter to the Colossians. Discover the true essence of a Christ-centered church and how it can guide us towards eternal salvation.

do nosso coração!!
"Porque Dele, por meio Dele e para Ele são Todas as coisas", "Porque sem Ele, nada do que foi feito se fez".. ❤️🔥✝️
Bom dia, gostaria de estar convidando a todos para assistir está mensagem e fazer uma reflexão sobre o assunto, verdadeiramente JESUS é o centro da sua vida?
Se Cristo não for o centro da igreja, então a Igreja já o abandonou. Ele é tudo em nós!!!
Glória a Deus pela exposição fiel das escrituras
