Louis Vuitton braves rain on its Italian island paradise

Louis Vuitton held its Cruise Collection 2024 show on the picturesque Isola Bella, a tiny island in Lake Maggiore in Italy. Despite heavy rain, celebrities and guests were treated to a collection that was both eclectic and futuristic, with ruffled scuba gear and fencer-inspired ensembles. Sweaters became more airy with a translucent stripe, while three chiffon gowns sported exaggerated puffy sleeves worthy of the Edwardian age. The Palazzo Borromeo, owned by the same family of the same name whose noble ancestry dates to the 13th century, served as an appropriate indoor location for the show. Although the weather did not cooperate, celebrities and influencers from around the world, including Catherine Deneuve and Cate Blanchett, made an appearance. It was the first-ever fashion show held on Isola Bella, a former fishing village transformed into a sumptuous paradise fit for royalty, with kings, queens, and emperors making Palazzo Borromeo their home over the years, including Queen Victoria, Napoleon and Josephine, and even Prince Charles and Princess Diana in 1985. Despite the heavy rain, the show was a success, and guests and celebrities alike looked fabulous in their designer pieces.
