# Exclusive Behind-the-Scenes Look at Mikhael Kale’s Fall 2015 Collection in World MasterCard Fashion Week

Are you curious about what goes on behind the runway? Follow ELLE as we take you behind-the-scenes with Mikhael Kale during Toronto’s World MasterCard Fashion Week. Get an exclusive look at his fall 2015 collection before it even hits the runway.

Mikhael Kale’s inspiration for the fall/winter 15 collection is based on the Italian producer Giorgio, and his path in production. He always wanted to reference the 50s, 60s, and 70s, with a futuristic element. The collection design is all about creating a trendy look, referencing the 60s, 70s, and the 80s, but in a unique and distinct style.

One of the key pieces in this collection is the tweed jacket with all the beading. It has a Mongolian sheepskin that’s dyed and manipulated on the bottom part of the jacket, providing a unique twist to the traditional tweed jacket.

“I’m a man looking at a dress. I’m a gay man looking at a dress, which makes it even more convoluted,” says Mikhael Kale. “Producing a product that a woman would love to wear and feel like it incorporates aspects of her is really, really challenging. But it helps me understand women better, and it helps me empathize with my mom, sister, and every single woman in my life. That’s why I’m so fond of dressmaking, as it puts you in a position where you start seeing the world a little differently.”
