Mulhouse’s Kunsthalle – Center of Contemporary Art

# Discovering La Kunsthalle – A Contemporary Art Haven

La Kunsthalle in Mulhouse, Haut-Rhin, Alsace is a hub of contemporary artmaking and appreciation – a space for both artists and art enthusiasts. Sandrine Wymann, the director, walks us through this museum situated in a refurbished foundry. With four exhibitions offered every year, along with artist residency programs, this centre d’art has a lot to offer.

La Kunsthalle’s reimagined foundry signifies the town’s embracing of the arts and is host to a rotating collection of temporary exhibitions. Wymann collaborates with invited curators to build a diverse program that showcases fresh and meaningful works from emerging and established artists.

In La Kunsthalle, there is also a residency program where artists are given essential support and the time needed to dive deep into their creative exploration. Leveraging the surrounding resources, from local universities to other cultural hubs in Mulhouse, the program provides artists with space to get inspired.

This museum emphasises contemporary art that resonates with the current times, ranging from photography, technology, to new media. This aspect enables visitors to have open conversations with their artists, who will be available for public interaction during the numerous events that La Kunsthalle holds every year.

Take part in engaging conversations with artists or attend dynamic exhibitions. Whether you are a student or an art enthusiast, La Kunsthalle is the perfect place to experience a modern art scene. Come and discover appealing artwork that speaks to our current cultural context.
