  1. We have something very similar in traditional Tongan cuisine called "Keke 'Isite" – which loosely translates to "yeast cake".
The only difference is that our batter is much wetter and is measured via hand. We also don't roll it in anything once cooked.
Sometimes we put mashed banana in it! It's delicious 🙂

  2. Batdriven, thought i might just enlighten you a tad bit but im aussie… and i know a fair amount of other aussies, we certainly dont like burnt food if we can help it… i would prefer it nicely cooked than burnt… maybe your thinking of the char you get from a good BBQ? But that again is different to burnt food…

As for those doughnuts, definetly a tad burnt however doughnuts are very easily overdone but seeing as she is not in a comm kitchen, she is not cooking for the general public? Maybe she likes them a little overdone?

  3. I really enjoy everything the River Cottage has to offer. From the early days to the present. Even the background music is enjoyable. I should really plan a visit to River Cottage headquarters and take a culinary class!

  4. they look super burned X_x
I won't eat them, lol. I dun like the bitter taste of burned food, but some reason english and australian people seem to love burned food.
