Roger Federer Showed Off Another Brand-New Rolex at Wimbledon

**ROGER FEDERER’S ROLEX OYSTER PERPETUAL SKY DWELLER**

Roger Federer, the retired tennis legend, made a surprise appearance at Wimbledon, but instead of playing on Center Court, he sat in the stands alongside the Princess of Wales. The crowd gave him a standing ovation as he entered the Royal Box, not only for his impressive tennis career but also for his choice of watch. Federer wore the brand-new Rolex Oyster Perpetual Sky Dweller, a timepiece that showcases his longstanding partnership with Rolex.

The Sky Dweller, introduced in 2012, is a relatively new addition to the Rolex catalog. Despite its already impressive design, Rolex continues to make improvements, aiming for perfection. This particular version of the watch was unveiled just a few months ago at Watches & Wonders in March.

Federer has become Rolex’s go-to ambassador for debuting their new watches. Earlier this year, he was the first person to wear the new 1908 at the Met Gala, and more recently, he sported the freshly madeover Daytona. Now, he is one of the first to showcase the new Sky Dweller.

The Sky Dweller can be seen as the luxury version of Rolex’s GMT, much like the Yacht-Master is compared to the Submariner. Both watches track two time zones, but they do it in different ways. While the GMT uses an extra hand, the Sky Dweller features a 24-hour wheel at the center that slowly rotates throughout the day. The new Sky Dweller range offers various colorways, including black and white gold, mint green and white Rolesor, and Federer’s choice, an elegant blue-green exclusively in 18-karat Everose Gold on an Oyster bracelet.

Despite his retirement from tennis, Federer remains at the top of his watch game, continually impressing with his choice of timepieces.

**DAVID BECKHAM’S TUDOR BLACK BAY 58**

David Beckham, the retired soccer star, is known for his extensive watch collection, just as he is known for his goals. One standout piece from his collection is the Tudor Black Bay 58, which he wore in the Royal Box at Wimbledon. Beckham’s watch features a green dial that perfectly matches the grass on Center Court and an 18-karat yellow gold case. As a friend of the brand, Beckham has access to a variety of watches from Tudor’s catalog, yet he consistently comes back to the Black Bay.

**PHOEBE WALLER-BRIDGE’S BULGARI SERPENTI**

Phoebe Waller-Bridge, the creator and star of the hit show Fleabag, wore a Bulgari Serpenti Tubogas watch while promoting her new film, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny. Waller-Bridge has shown a fondness for this particular watch, as she was also seen wearing it during her interview with the New York Times. The watch has a unique rectangular case and a black matte dial, reflecting Waller-Bridge’s unorthodox style. The serpent-inspired wraparound band adds a touch of movement to the timepiece, and Waller-Bridge’s version is made of 18-carat gold.

**JENNIFER ANISTON’S CHOPARD ALPINE EAGLE**

Jennifer Aniston, known for her role in The Morning Show, will be returning for the show’s third season wearing a Chopard Alpine Eagle on her wrist. The show tackles important issues such as ageism, sexism, and misconduct in the media, making Aniston’s choice of watch all the more fitting. In 2023, prop masters are stepping up their game, evident in the impeccable watch choices seen in shows like Succession. Aniston, as her character Alex Levy, deserves a watch and brand that is tailor-made for the red carpet.

**DONNA VEKIĆ’S F.P. JOURNE ELEGANTE**

Croatian tennis player Donna Vekić turned heads at Wimbledon by wearing an F.P. Journe Elegante watch on the court. The watch features an olive green case, 38 brilliant cut diamonds, and a contrasting baby pink rubber strap, making it a stunning accessory both on and off the court. Vekić certainly won the style game at the tournament with this statement-making timepiece.
