Sculpting with Paper

# Sculpture Center Techniques: Paper for 3D Landscapes

Looking for a fun way to make your landscape pop? Join us at the Sculpture Center and learn some new techniques on how to use paper to make your artwork look three-dimensional. In this video, we walk you through the tools and techniques you’ll need to make your paper creations come to life.

## Creating Tabs with Paper

To start, we’ll show you how to make a tab for your paper circle. You’ll need to fold it to create a little corner, then fold it again to have two corners on your tab. Once you’ve done that, use some glue to stick it onto the back of your paper circle while letting it rest for a few seconds.

## Making Paper Curves

Next, we’ll share some tips on how to create curves with paper that will make your artwork even more impressive. To do this, you’ll need to make some notches on your paper tab and then curve it around. With a little patience and the right techniques, you can create paper curves that stack on top of each other or spread around each other beautifully.

## Forming Walls with Notches

Finally, we’ll show you the coolest trick yet: using notches to make walls. Cut notches on two pieces of paper, then put them together to create a giant X. This technique will help your notches go together and form a sturdy 3D structure.

With these paper techniques, you can make your artwork come to life! And don’t forget to play with various colors to create unique and colorful landscapes. We can’t wait to see what you make!
