Succeed in Making Scallion Pancakes on the First Try with Nonie’s Cooking Tutorial

# Learning my Father-in-Law’s Dumpling Recipe

Do you ever watch someone cook and think, “I should try that”? That’s what happened to me with my father-in-law’s dumpling recipe. Though I’ve watched him make them many times at my in-laws’ house, I’ve never attempted it myself. My husband always dissuaded me, saying it’s easier to just buy them from a restaurant. However, as a Shandong daughter-in-law, I felt it was my duty to give it a try.

With the current pandemic keeping us homebound, I decided it was finally time to give it a shot. I must emphasize that this was my very first time trying my father-in-law’s recipe, so please don’t judge me too harshly if my technique isn’t perfect!

In the video, I’ll walk you through each step of creating these traditional Chinese dumplings, from creating the filling to folding the dough wrappers. Hopefully, you’ll find my experience helpful if you’re interested in making these types of dumplings yourself.
